Built on reliability, professionalism and quality

TGS Trading (Pty) Ltd was established to give Limpopo clients a construction partner they can actually depend on. Too many projects stall on late equipment, unclear costs or a contractor who goes quiet — so we built the company around the opposite: answer the phone, price the work properly, and deliver what was promised.

From our base in Seshego we support contractors, developers, municipalities and private clients across the province. Whether you need a machine on site tomorrow morning or a full bill of quantities before you tender, the same team handles it.

Our work is led by Maryjoy Tumiso Mapinga, a Candidate Quantity Surveyor who brings measured costing discipline to every hire and every project we manage.

What clients say

Contractors, developers and private clients who have worked with us on site.

TGS had an excavator and operator on our Polokwane site the next morning. The machine was clean, the operator knew the work, and the rate was exactly what was quoted.

We needed a bill of quantities before a tender deadline. Maryjoy turned it around quickly and the measurements held up when the work was valued on site.

About TGS Trading

A Seshego construction services company built on measured numbers, dependable plant and a director who answers the phone.

Our story

TGS Trading (Pty) Ltd was registered to solve a problem our director kept running into on Limpopo sites: projects that stall because the machine arrives late, the costing was guessed, or the contractor goes quiet halfway through. We built the company around the opposite habits — answer the phone, price the work properly, and deliver what was promised.

We started with plant hire, putting well-maintained equipment and reliable operators into the hands of contractors who could not afford downtime. As clients began asking us to check the numbers behind their tenders, quantity surveying became a second pillar of the business. Project management followed naturally: once you are hiring the plant and measuring the work, holding the programme and budget together is the obvious next step.

Today we work from Seshego across Polokwane, Mokopane, Mankweng and the wider province, supporting building contractors, property developers, municipalities and private clients. Some come to us for a single excavator for a week. Others hand us a full scope — hire, measurement and management — and let one team carry it from first quote to final account.

What we hold ourselves to

Four commitments that decide how we quote, how we work on site and how we close out a job.

Reliability

Equipment on site when we said it would be, with operators who know the work. If a date slips, you hear it from us first — not from your programme.

Accuracy

Quantities measured from the drawings, rates built up properly and valuations that hold up when the work is measured on site. No padded numbers, no guesswork.

Transparency

One written rate, one clear scope, one point of contact. Variations are priced before they are built, so there are no surprises on the final account.

Local capability

We hire, buy and employ in Limpopo wherever we can. Skills transfer to local crews and labour stays in the communities where our projects sit.

Maryjoy Tumiso Mapinga

Director & Candidate Quantity Surveyor

Maryjoy leads TGS Trading and personally oversees the costing side of the business. As a Candidate Quantity Surveyor she prepares bills of quantities, cost estimates, interim valuations and final accounts — the measured, defensible numbers that let a client tender with confidence and know where the money is going once work starts.

Her approach is hands-on. She walks the site, checks the quantities against what is actually built, and reports progress to clients in plain language rather than jargon. That same discipline runs through the hire side of the company: rates are quoted clearly, plant is maintained on a schedule, and every job is closed out with the paperwork in order.

She is supported by a small, experienced team of operators, site staff and administrative personnel who share the same standard — do the work properly the first time, and leave the client able to recommend us.
